The Terebinth Story Archive      Maybe not quite as epic as we were promised...      Also? I'm gonna try some different setting for how I scan these pages over the next couple weeks. I was going through the archives in an effort to find the original version of the poem that has now grown into " Chant of the Insect Queen ," and I like how those pages have more grayscale in them than the more recent pages. So we'll see what comes of that.

Chant of the Insect Queen

And now, here's an insect poem!      This is based on one I wrote years ago—and can't even find in the archives now—for Scott, the king of the insects, in the Terebinth comic. It's been expanded and rewritten and is now available for your dining and dancing pleasure with a recording at the top of me chanting it in my best insect queen voice.      Because now it's called " Chant of the Insect Queen " and has been posted to the Silver Blade website. It's a chant royal , of course, because, I mean, insect queen, right?      As I'm writing this, the piece as posted has a nasty typo in the 1st stanza at the end of the 6th line: it's got a "d" there instead of a comma, and that upsets the rhyme scheme in an unfortunate way. Here's hoping that, by the time you actually read the poems, this problem'll be fixed.      It's always such an adventure! ...

The Terebinth Story Archive      Yeah, adversarial villanelles can have odd effects on some people...      Also? Sean has the worst time keeping track of his inhaler: the first time he appeared in the comic, way back on page 564 , he was at the school nurse's office after losing his inhaler. Because birds apparently can have asthma!
