The Daily Grind Table of Contents      Youth is apparently wasted on the young.

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      On his own for the first time, all alone in the big city, and having epiphanies: that's our Howlett!

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      Ah, the not-so-mean streets of Gadsden...

The Terebinth Story Archive      If, like Lamont, you're a bit confused by Esther's outburst here, well, my first recommendation would be to visit the Table of Contents and read the whole series from the beginning.      For people who have other things to do with their lives, my second recommendation would be to read the 1st storyline, "HatDance," which runs from page 1 through page 126 , then read through our 4th storyline, "Prey," which runs from page 201 through page 375 , then read through Esther's "Solo Adventure" which runs from page 745 through page 764 .      But if you haven't got the time even for that, a brief summation of Miss Annekke's appearances in Terebinth so far would have to include her first lines in the middle of Act IV of " Prey ," specifically on pages 319 and 320 ; her intransigence as demonstrated in Act V of that same story on pages 333 and 342 ; her volunteering on pag...

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      Now, wait. Is Howlett quoting Gilbert and Sullivan there? Or is it just coincidental? So many questions!

The Terebinth Story Archive      As far as adversarial villanelles go, this one seems less adversarial than most of 'em we have around here.

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      We've been inside Clay Hills a few times in the comic: I'm thinking specifically of these pages from our 15th storyline, " Shifting Sands ."

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      Don't worry, folks. As we saw on these pages from our 15th storyline, " Shifting Sands ," and on these pages from our 58th storyline, " Many Happy Returns ," it's not that far from the Clay Hills reservation to the road...

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      If folks would like to see Howlett wrapped tight in the mindset he's describing here, I'll invite you to visit these pages and those that follow from our 12th storyline, " Holiday ." The aforementioned pages also went up on the website almost exactly 18 years ago, too. Horrifying!

The Terebinth Story Archive      Here's the standard disclaimer for when Lamont's being a jerk: the opinions expressed by Terebinth 's characters do not necessarily represent the opinions of the comic's management, staff, or flunkies.

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      They've got lots of languages in the Daily Grind universe, and each of them corresponds at least roughly to a language in our world. Manx, a rodenty, rabbitty sort of thing, is the equivalent of English, Cobraic is something like Cherokee, Canid is Latin, Batrach is ancient Greek, the Eastern insectoid language Pe Meng has echoes of Mandarin Chinese, and the last word in Howlett's sonnet here evidentally means that there's an analog for French, too. Maybe Stiriatian, the common language of the grazing herds on the plains of the Stiriat? Or maybe Muscan, the Western insectoid language? So many options!

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      Looks like Howlett shares my goal of writing sonnets with the fewest words possible.

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      That's definitely Alban in the "angel" box on the left there, and while I'm not entirely sure, I think that might by Alban's Uncle Toch in the "devil" box on the left. Cameos!

The Terebinth Story Archive      If I know Lamont—and I'm pretty sure that I do—he'll be finishing that limerick next week.

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      I dunno about rhyming "mythical" and "typical," there, Howlett. He's just more of an iconoclast than me, I guess...

The Daily Grind Table of Contents      We've explored Howlett's past several times around here: during our 5th storyline, " '-30-' ," for instance, our 15th storyline, " Shifting Sands ," and our 58th storyline, " Many Happy Returns ." I've a feeling we'll be hearing more about it in upcoming weeks.
