One Last Magical Squirrel Story For Now

Well, it's that time again. Though this time is currently scheduled to be the last time...

After 35 years, volume 34 of the Sword & Sorceress anthology—they skipped a year somewhere in there after Marion Zimmer Bradley, the original editor and driving force behind the project, died in 1999—is now available for purchase. And inside is another adventure with Cluny the Sorceress Squirrel, Crocker and Shtasith and all their various associates.

All told, I had 12 stories about Cluny & Co. appear in the series, and I remain determined to paste them together into a series of novels before the heat death of the universe. The first book, covering their first year at Huxley College, is about two-thirds of the way written with just over 80,000 words staring at me. I know how things hasve to go since the short stories lay out the groundwork, but I'm weaving in sub-plots and introducing new characters and ev'rything. So that's taking some time.

Still, I enjoy hanging out with these three jokers too much to abandon them. So we'll see how things go, I guess.
